9/7 - Snap! Raise Fundraiser beginning

We're kicking off our annual fundraiser with Snap! Raise this season, the nation's leading fundraising platform for groups, clubs and high school teams. For the past 10 years, Snap! Raise has helped our program regularly raise more than $10,000 a season! We are excited to get started and have one vital request. I ask that you help your student-athlete identify a minimum of 20 people they will reach out to via Snap! Raise. We are planning to start the fundraiser on Thursday, September 9th and your athlete will be asked to create their account and have their profile picture and emails uploaded by end of day Wednesday, September 8th. If your athlete has previously participated in a Snap! Raise fundraiser the emails used last time will be pre-entered when they join this year's fundraiser. If you do not wish for the same people to be asked again to donate you or your athlete must manually remove those emails from their account before the start of the fundraiser on 9/9.

The list of 20 people could include many of your child’s biggest fans and needs to be completed in full to ensure our campaign is set up for success. It is my hope and goal that each student will have a major impact on our program. Through Snap! Raise's system we can track everyone's participation and as a member of this program we are asking everyone to do their part and fully support this effort.

http://raise.snap.app/join_code/302972845

Here are 20 examples of people your child could consider adding:
Grandma
Grandpa
Uncle(s)
Aunt(s)
Family doctor
Orthodontist/dentist
Church/Social leader
Family friend #1
Family friend #2
Former coach/ Middle School coach
School alumni
Cousin(s)
Local business that knows you
Neighbor(s)
Parent co-worker(s)
Friends of parent
Adult sibling(s)
Local Fire Dept/Police Dept

Thanks for your continued support of our program!

Tuesday Sept 5th is team photo day

Please find a message from our photographer Home Team photo.

It’s a new kind of picture day! For those that have photographed with us before, this change might be a little different. There is NO PREPAY (yay!), you just need to Opt-In/Subscribe via text message, before picture day. Once pictures are ready for ordering, you will receive the link and access code to order if you like the photo. All orders are mailed directly to parents' homes.  It's that easy! :)  *Parents MUST opt-in via text to receive the ordering link and SPECIAL PROMOTIONS

Text "2324MIRXC" to 90738 to opt-in for picture day

Picture/Senior Banners Day - Tuesday Sept 5th is team photo day. All athletes should arrive wearing their team t-shirt and black sweats that day. Any pair of black sweats is fine.  Everyone will also have an individual photo taken - ordering this photo is of course optional but it will be taken just in case.

Seniors you need to wear your racing singlet and black racing shorts/spandex underneath your tshirt/joggers for your solo photo. You do not need to pay for your banner - this is included in this years' team fees so nothing extra. Banners will be displayed at the track and will be yours to take home at the end of the season. Please let me know if you do not wish to participate.  Unfortunately if you are absent on picture day you won’t be able to get a banner.

Team Captains' Jamba Juice Fundraiser

Please see this message from the Team Captains:

Jamba Juice have provided us with some amazing BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) fundraising cards. We have 100 so ideally would like everyone on the team to buy a minimum of 1 each. Hoping all athletes and parents can support this quick little fundraiser!

Each card costs $10 and these cards are pre-loaded with 6 x Buy One Get One Free punches on them meaning the card gives you 6 opportunities to order 2 smoothies and only pay for 1. At only $10 each the card pays for itself after the first visit! Enjoy two healthy drinks for you and a friend for the price of one and feel good that you are also helping the team.

Venmo $10 per card to Kathryn-Bell-15 or give your $10 and your name to Grace Bell at practice this week so we can make sure everyone gets the cards as soon as possible! If you need to pay any other way text 925-317-2006.

The money raised goes directly to support team activities and events planned by captains this season. Cards will be distributed to athletes/families who have purchased at an upcoming practice. Here’s the small print/lowdown :)

Each $10 card has:

Six – Buy one get one free “punches”
Limit one redemption/ use per card/per visit
Good for any size smoothie
Valid at all Jamba Juice stores nationwide (may not be valid at Airports, Safeway, Hawaii, Downtown Disney, etc.)
If someone loses or has their cards stolen no returns or refunds will be accepted. (Tip - load the card code onto the app so you don’t lose.)

The swipe cards expire 6 months once they're loaded onto the app.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL

Parent  Volunteer opportunities --  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040F4FADA92FA6F49-mats1#/

Please see this message from Team Parent  Rebecca Verity, Team Volunteer Coordinator:

Hey fellow XC parents!

As Coach Julie described on our call today, it takes a (big!) village to run a team.  We are asking every family to sign up for a minimum of two volunteer positions per kid, and those opportunities come in several categories:

1. Team Photographers.  These absolute heroes use their talents and cameras - no need to be a professional (by a long shot) but a zoom lens does help - to attend meets and snap as many of our runners as possible.  The photos parent volunteers have taken of my runners are truly some of the most treasured I have of my kids.  We are hoping that several parents with an interest in photography step up and share the load.  You'll organize amongst yourselves  to split meets so you don't have to cover any entire event, and then upload photos to a shared team album.

2. Meet Volunteers.  These heroes keep our kids healthy and keep events running smoothly.  You'll either pick up the team's 5 gallon drink coolers and bring them, filled to the meet, OR bring (or send) bars or fruit, OR volunteer as a judge or other meet staff member.  Please click here to sign up as a meet volunteer!!

3. Team Dinner Volunteers.  These awesome peeps help us build the community that is why our kids run, and why our kids stay healthy and happy in high school and beyond!  Those sign ups will be rolling out as the Dinner Organizing Team gets all the details worked out, but mark your dinners now to attend Team Dinners on Tuesday, Sept 26; Tuesday, October 17 (my husband's birthday! I'll bring cupcakes); and Friday, November 3.  Dinners are so much fun for athletes, and are a fantastic way to get to know the other running families! (And trust me, when you need a PT recommendation, a great shoe store, or an emergency ride for your kid to a Saturday meet, you're going to be glad you went).  Watch this inbox for the opportunity to volunteer at a dinner, if that's your jam.

Also, if you didn't make it to the team meeting, Coach Julia is offering to coordinate after practice weekday car pools, for families who would prefer that as an option - just drop her an email if you're interested.

Thanks to our fabulous coaches and good luck to our amazing kids!

Best,
Rebecca Verity
Team Volunteer Coordinator

Mats XC23 Team Dues - These are now live on the webstore.  Please click the following link (or copy/paste into your browser)

https://miramonte.revtrak.net/sports-all/fall-sports/cross-country/#/v/Cross-Country-Athletic-Contribution-180

Hopefully we can get 100% participation from the team and everyone can contribute to the season. (In case you needed to check, this is not something you have already paid on Mats Day, as they were just uploaded today 8/25.)

Remember team dues pay for competition costs, buses to some of those meets, our coaches stipends, singlets and t-shirts, end of season banquet and more
