All athletes participating in Miramonte sports must submit a completed AUHSD Athletic Clearance Form, signed by a physician after July 1, 2018. As a convenient alternative to visiting a physician over the summer for this clearance, MHS Boosters Club will offer the following Summer Health Screening options:
The sessions will be conducted by Dr. Melvin Huie and John Grigsby, our outstanding athletic trainer, along with other doctors who generously volunteer their time for our student-athletes.
The cost for the health screening is $40 per athlete and will include a Physical Therapy Station to test flexibility and address injury prevention run by Lafayette Physical Therapy with assistance from John's MHS Sports Medicine Students. There will also be a station for an assessment by Sparta Science, a newly funded service paid for by MHS Boosters Club for all Miramonte student-athletes.
To participate in a summer health screening, students must have seen their own physician within the past year and not had a concussion during the past 12 months. Students will need to bring the Athletic Clearance form (available in mid-June here) and a $40 check made payable to Miramonte Boosters Club to the screening. All proceeds benefit the Miramonte Boosters Club, which supports Miramonte Athletics.
